3-Aroyl flavanones were allowed to react with hydrazine hydrate in dioxane containing little piperidine to give corresponding 3-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-4-aroyl-5-arylpyrazolines. Their structural assignment are based on elemental analysis, spectral data (IR, UV & NMR) and chemical properties. All these compounds were tested in vitro for their antibacterial activity by disk-diffusion method against gram positive and gram negative bacterias. In some of the compounds the results are found to be encouraging.
