The reduction of Cu(II) with amino acids (glycine, a-alanine and L-valine) was investigated electrochemically. The stability constants of Cu(II) with amino acids were evaluated by the method of DeFord and Hume. These stability constants values were verified by Mihailov’s mathematical approach. The reduction of the system in each case is reversible and diffusion controlled, involving two electrons.
