A new class of methoxy and methyl substituted pyrazolones have been synthesized by the condensation of 2-methoxy-5-methyl phenyl malonamic acid hydrazide with different ethyl aceto hydrazones by using glacial acetic acid as a catalyst. The structures of newly synthesized compounds have been confirmed from elemental analysis and spectral studies like IR.
