Sio2 Catalyzed Friedlander Synthesis of 1,8-Naphthridines in Dry Media Under Microwave Irradiation

2-Aminonicotinaldehyde 1 with various carbonyl compounds containing รก-methylene group 2 undergo Friedlander condensation on the surface of SiO2 when subjected to microwave irradiation generating 1,8-naphthyridines 3 in high yields.
