Synthesis and Spectral Studies of Novel Pyrazole Derivatives of B-Carbonyl Compounds

Reaction of N-(2-chloroethyl)pyrazole (1a) and 3-methyl-N-(2-chloroethyl)pyrazole (1b) with various b-diketones and b-ketoesters in presence of sodium methoxide (CH3ONa) give novel b-dicarbonyl derivatives (2a-j). Structures of these compounds were established on the basis of spectral studies viz. IR, 1H NMR etc.
