A series of carboxamides of 2-amino-4-phenyl thiazole (3a-h) and (4) were synthesized, purified and characterized on the basis of spectral data such as IR, 1H-NMR, mass spectra and elemental analysis. The test samples were subjected to antibacterial activity by agar cup plate method. Out of the nine compounds tested, chloro and methyl analogs showed significant antibacterial activity.
