Trimethylammonium Halochromates (VI), (CH3)3NH[CrO3X], (X=F,Cl), that are Trimethylammonium fluorochromate(VI); TriMAFC, and Trimethylammonium chlorochromate (VI) TriMACC, were prepared and used for quantitative oxidation of several organic substrates. These new compounds are more efficient and have certain advantages over similar oxidizing agents in terms of the amount of oxidant and solvent required, short reaction time and high yields. The durability, ease of work up and efficiency of TriMAFC and TriMACC are considerably increased upon their absorption on silica gel.
