3,5-Dibromo N-acetyl anthranilic acid was refluxed with acetyl chloride in dry chloroform to give 3,5-Dibromo N-acetyl anthranilic acid. This on refluxing with various aldehydes in presence of 2% NaOH solution yields 3,5-Dibromo -2- [3-(substituted)-acrylamino]- benzoic acid (1). This on further cyclisation with hydroxylamine hydrochloride affords 3,5 - Dibromo -2- [5-(substituted) -4, 5-dihydro-isoxozol-3-yl amino] - benzoic acid (2). Mannich reaction of above compounds gave the corresponding 3,5-Dibromo-2- [5-(substituted)-4-phenylaminomethyl - 4,5-dihydro-isoxozol-3-yl-amino] - benzoic acid.
