Compound 1 on treatment with SOCl2 followed by hydrazine hydrate gave acid hydrazide 2. Variously substituted phenyl isothiocyanates with acid hydrazide 2 gave thiosemicarbazides 3. These thiosemicarbazides 3 on treatment with conc. H2SO4 and dil. NaOH gave thiadiazoles 4 and triazoles 5 respectively.
KEYWORDS:Thiosemicarboazide; Triazole; Thidiazole; Ultrasonucation Microwave irradiation
