Complexes of anisaldehyde-4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazone with Th(IV) have been isolated and characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance and spectral studies. Complexes are ascertained the general formula {ThL2 xn} (X= NO3-, NCS-, CH3COO-, CH3CHOHCOO-, n=4; X=SO2-4, C2O42- n=2; and L= anisaldehyde-4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazone). Thermal behaviour of nitrato and oxalato complexes were examined. Ligand and few metal complexes were examined and screened for their antibacterial activities.
KEYWORDS:Thorium (IV) complexes; Anisaldehyde-4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazone; antibacterial activity
