Molecular complex of 1,1 Dimethy1-4, 4'-bipyridinium dichloride parquet with phenolic, catacolic and purine based drugs have been studied spectrophotometrically in alkaline medium where donors produce their anions. All the complexes exhibit one charge transfer band in the region where neither of the components have any absorption. The ionization potentials of the donors have been evaluated from the position of CT bands. Stocihiometry of each complex is found to be1: 1 from job’s method. The stability constant have been evaluated using Rose Drago method. The variations of position of CT bands and the stabilities of the complexes have been correlated with the structure of the donor molecule.
