Nucleophilic attack upon mono-2,4-dichlorophenyl phosphate (2,4-DCPP) and 2,4-dibromophenyl phosphate (2,4-DBPP) esters was studied by OH- ions from NaOH in presence and absence of cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTABr). The increase of the first order rate constants with the concentration of the surfactant was analysed in terms of Br- ions in micellar pseudophase, which occur readily by aqueous CTABr and calculated second order rate constant.
