A Variety of novel 5-phenyl-4-substituted amino-3-mercapto(4H)-1,2,4-Triazoles have been synthesized by reacting 5-phenyl-4-amino-3-mercapto(4H)-1,2,4-Triazoles with a variety of aromatic aldehydes, the starting material aroylhydrazide was synthesized from ethylbenzoate. The title compounds were investigated for analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities. While the test compounds exhibited significant activity, the compounds SJ2, SJ4 and SJ8 shown more potent analgesic activity and the compounds SJ4, SJ8 and SJ12 and shown more potent anti-inflammatory activity than the reference diclofenac sodium.
