1H-NMR spectrum of Indole2, 3 dione -3-(semicarbazone) (IDSC) reveals that the ligand exhibits keto-enol tautomerism. In order to understand the potential binding sites, potentiometric titrations have been carried out at 0.05M, 0.1 M, 0.15M & 0.2M ionic strengths with constant temperature of 303K in aqueous-DMF medium using Irving Rossotti technique. From the titrations it is evident that there is one dissociable proton in ligand. Titrations were also carried out with Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II), Zn (II) and Pb (II) at different ionic strengths. The order of stabilities with respect to metal ions follows the sequence Cu (II)>Pb (II)>Zn (II)>Co (II)>Ni (II).
