ABSTRACT:

The stability constants of mixed complexes of Cadmium(ll) with some bicarboxylic acids (tartarate, maleate, malonate, malate, succinate and oxalate) and ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) have been evaluated at 30°C and M = 0.2 (KNO3) by the method of Schaap and McMasters for MXY, MXY2, and MX2Y complexes at DME. The statistical and electrochemical effects have been discussed by using these stability constants. The mixing constants (KM) and stabilization constants (KS) were measured for the comparison of the simple and mixed complexes. The positive values of above constants indicate that the ternary complexes are more stable than the binary complexes.
