Synthesis and Antimicrobial Studies of Arylthiourea With 2-[(2',6'-Dichlorophenyl)Amino] Phenylacetic Acid

2-[(2',6'-Dichlorophenyl)amino]N’-phenylacetyl-N2-arylthiourea derivatives (IVa-o) were prepared by the reaction of 2-[(2',6'-dichloro phenyl)amino]phenylacetylchloride(ll) with various substituted arylthiourea. All the compounds were established by the spectral data, elemental analysis and test for antimicrobial activity against Gram positive S. aureus, B. subtilis and Gram negative E. coli, P. vulgaris bacterial species while C. albicans was a fungal species. Compared with standard drug compound lllj&m shows good activity against all species.
