When reaction between equimolar quantities of [MoI2(CO)(NCMe) (h2-EtC2Me)2] and one equavalat of phosphites groups P(OR)3 the yield will take different way, where M = Mo the 2-pentyne displaced products, [Mol2(CO)(NCMe){P(OR)3}(h2-EtC2Me)] (R=Ph, iPr) (1) and (2) and with M = W afforded the acetonitrile displaced products [Wl2(CO){P(OR)3} (h2-EtC2Me)2] (R = Me, Et, 1Pr, Ph) (3-6). Reaction of [Ml2(CO)(NCMe)(h2-EtC2Me)2] with two equivalents of P(OR)3 gave the mono (2-Pentyne) complexes, [Ml2(CO){P(OR)3}2 (h2-EtC2Me)] (M = Mo or w; R = Me, Et, iPr, nBu, Ph)6-15.
