The molecular charge transfer complexes (CT) of N-methyl dipyridinium iodide with picric acid, 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid, 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid and 2,3-dichloro 5,6-dicyano-p-benzoquinone have been studied at 25°C in ethanol. The stoiochiometry, and association constants (K) were determined, also the ionization potential and free energy are calculated. The complexes prepared and investigated by elemental analysis, IR and electronic absorption spectroscopy to confirm the nature of molecular structure. Thermal analysis (TGA and DSC) of the complexes showed that they are more stable than the donor furthermore the activation energy (Ea) of the complexes were elucidated.
