The mixed ligand complexes of pyridine (pyr), glycine (gly1-) and alanine (ala1-) with Cd (II) have been studied polarographically at constant ionic strength, μ = 1.5 M (NaNO3) and pH 8.2 at 25.4 ± 0.1 °C. The reduction of the complexes at d.m.e. is reversible and diffusion-controlled. Two mixed complexes [Cd (gly) (pry)]1+ and [Cd (gly)2 (pry)] are formed in Cd(II)-glycine-pyridine system with the stability constants; log b11 = 5.243 and log b21 = 8.447. Two mixed complexes [Cd (ala) (pyr)]1+ and [Cd (ala)2 (pyr)] are formed in Cd(II)-alanine-pyridine system with the stability constants; log b11 = 6.396 and log b21 = 9.792.
