Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of 1-Acetyl- 3-(2'-Furyl)-5-(Substituted Phenyl) D2 Pyrazolines

New 1-acetyl-3-(2'-furyl)-5-(substituted phenyl) D2 phrazoline (IIa-e) have been synthesised by action of hydrazine hydrate and acetic acid on 1-furyl-3-(substituted phenyl)2-propene-1-one (Ia-e). Structure elucidation of these compounds were done on the basis of spectroscopic data. The antimicrobial activity of these newly synthesised componds have also been screened and found to be effective against both Gram +ve and Gram -ve bacteria.
