The target compounds 1H-2-(benzthiazol-2'-yl)-4-arylhydrazono-5-methyl-3-pyrazolones (2a-m) and 1-(benzthiazol-2'-yl-amino)-2-phenyl-4-arylidene-5-oxoimidazolines (3a-l) have been synthesised by the condensation of 2-hydrazinobenzthiazole (1) and 2-arylhydrazono-ethyl-2,3-dioxobutyrate and different oxazolones respectively. All the products have been evaluated for their antimicrobial activity towards different strain of bacteria and fungi, some of the products have been evaluated for their antitubercular activity towards Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37 Rv.
KEYWORDS:Substituted pyrazolones; Imidazolinones; Antimicrobial activity
