Various 4-Oxothiazolidinones III(a-j) were prepared by reacting N-[1-aza-2-(substituted phenyl)] (2-acetamido 5-bromo phenyl) carboxamides II (a-j) with thioglycolicacid. Reaction between N-amino (2-acetamido 5-bromo phenyl) carboxamide I and different aldehydes gives N-[(1-aza-2-(substituted phenyl)] (2-acetamido 5-bromo phenyl) carboxamides II (a-j). These compounds were characterized on the basis of elemental and spectral analysis. All the newly synthesized compounds were tested for their antibacterial activity.
