2-Phenyl-4-benzylidene/substituted benzylidene-oxazole-5-ones react with 4-amino-N-methyl acetanilide in dry pyridine to give 1-(4'-N-methyl-N-acetylamino) phenyl-2-phenyl-4-benzylidine/substituted benzylidine-imidazoline-5-ones. The synthesised compounds were tested for their antimicrobial activity. The structures of the synthesised compounds have been elucidated on the basis of their elemental analysis and spectral data.
KEYWORDS:4-Amino-N-methyl acetanilide; Different azalactones; Antimicrobial activity
