The ethanolic extract of aerial parts of the Centella asiatica (Linn.) Urban yielded a sesquiterpenic constituent, named homosilphiperfoloic acid and a decahydronaphthalene substituted heptanoic acid, named cylcobrahmic acid. Their structures have been elucidated and 6, 7-cyclohexyl-silphiperfolan-16-oic acid and a-decahydronaphthyl-n-heptanoic acid on the basis of the spectral details and chemical reactions.
