The stability constants of 1:1 metal complexes formed between Cu+2, Ni+2, Co+2, Zn+2, Cd+2, Hg+2, Mg+2, UO2+2 and Th+4 and schiff base naphtho [2,3-a] furan-2-carboxy-(2'-hydroxy phenyl methine) hydrazone were determined by pH metric titration in water containing 70% (V/V) alcohol, at 30± 1°C temperature and 0.05 M (NaClO4) ionic strength. The order of stability constant was found to be UO22+ > Cu+2 > Ni+2 > Zn+2 > Co+2 > Th+4 > Hg+2 > Mg+2. The free energy of complex formation in dilute solution suggests the reactions are spontaneous ones.
