Density (r) and absolute viscosities of pure N,N-Dimethyl formamide and methanol and their nine mixtures were determined at three temperatures ranging between 298.15, 303.15 and 308.15 °K. The above properties were fitted by empirical equation stating their dependence on temperature and composition of the mixtures. The extra thermodynamic function such as excess Gibb's free energy of activation of viscous flow (DGE) and Nissan parameter (d) have been studied. The trend of DGE vs composition of mixtures shows positive deviation from ideality, indicating extensive molecular interaction between the components of binary solvent system.
