Fly ash was utilized for primary treatment of combined effluent generated from the different production activities of starch and liquid glucose. The effectiveness of fly ash studied in removing turbidity in terms of increase in % transmission through effluent and decrease in COD values. Fly ash was judiciously used in different doses with varying contact time and its effect on pH, % transmission and COD.
