Thienopyrimidines 3a-m and cyanopyridines 4a-m have been synthesised by the condensation of chalcones 2 with thiourea, conc. HCl and alanonitrile, ammonium acetate respectively. All the products have been evaluated for their antimicrobial activity against various strains of bacteria and fungi.
KEYWORDS:Thienopyrimidines; cyanopyrimidines; antimicrobial activity
