Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Some New 4-(3h) Pyrimidinones

The target compounds 2-aroylhydrazino-6-p-chlorophenyl-5-cyano-3-N-methyl-4(3H)-pyrimidinone (4a-o) has been synthesized by the condensation of 6-p-chlorophenyl-5-cyano-2-hydrazino-3-N-methyl-4(3H)-pyrimidinone 3 with different aroyl chlorides. All the products have been evaluated for their antimicrobial activity towards different strains of bacteria and fungi and antitubercular activity towards mycobacterium tuberculosis H37 Rv.
