Pyrazoline (3a-j) have been synthesised by the condensation of 1-aryl-3-(3'-carboxy-4'-hydroxyphenyl)-propen-3-ones with phenyl hydrazine. Chalcones have been prepared by the condensation of 5-acetyl salicylic acid with different aryl aldehyde. The products have been evaluated for their antibacterial and antifungal activities.
