Dibromo chalcohnes were prepared by the reaction of chalcone with bromine by using glacial acetic acid and Quinoxalines were prepared by the reaction of dibromo chalcone with benzene-1,2-diamine in presence of concentrated H2SO4 by using ethanol. The intermediate chalcone were synthesized by the reaction of 4-methoxy acetophenone with various aldehydes. The structures of the compounds have been confirmed by elemented analysis and spectral analysis. The antibacterial activity of the compounds have been screened.
