Ozone is employed for many applications today. The use of Corona discharge based ozone generators is well known. Ozone formed in the high electric field has a certain component of excited state molecules, which have a very short life time. These have been shown to be utilizable for ozonalysis in this paper. The development of a novel in-situ porous tube electrode system permits immediate contact of the generated ozone into the liquid chemical stream. The effect has been noted to improve with higher voltages and flow rates. An analysis of the effect of such excited state components based on the Gaussian distribution is able to explain the experimental results.
