On Thioglucosides: Synthesis, Antibacterial and Antifungal Activities of S-Tetra-O-Benzoyl-D-Glucopyranosyl Aryldithiocarbamates

S-tetra-O-benzoyl-D-glucopyranosyl aryldithiocarbamates have been prepared by the interaction of tetra-O-benzoyl-D-glucopyranosyl bromide and ammonium aryldithiocarbamates. The identities of these products have been established on the basis of usual chemical transformations, IR, NMR and Mass spectral analysis. Antibacterial and Antifungal activities of these compounds were carried out on E. coli, S. aureus, P. vulgaris, Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Salmonella, A. Niger and Fusarium. These compounds show sufficient activity towards these microorganisms
