The formation constants (log K1, log K2 and log b2) of 4-carboxaldehyde-1-(2’,4’-dinitrophenyl)-3-methyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one complexes of Cr(III), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) have been determined by pH-metric method at 30±0.5°C in 70:30 (v/v) dioxane-water medium with 0.1M Potassium nitrate as the constant ionic strength using the method of Calvin-Bjerrum as modified by Irving-Rossotti. The trends in the formation constants of these complexes are discussed.
