A of new mixed ligand Pentacoordinate complexes of oxovanadium (IV) and copper(II) containing imides and nitrogen containing amine bases have been synthesized. The complexes have the composition [M(P or S)2.L] and [M(P or S)2.L], where P=deprotonated phthalimide, S=deprotonated succinimide L=ethylenediamine (en) and L=diethylenetriamine (dien). All the complexes are found to be square pyrimidal.
