To search new and potential drugs, we screened the following five synthesized compounds (Ferrocenylmethyl)trimethylammonium iodide(I), (Ferrocenylmethyl)-triphenylphosphonium iodide(II), Ferrocenylmethanol(III), Ferrocenyl(phenyl)(thienyl)-methanol(IV) and Ferrocene-1,1’-diyl bisdiphenyl-methanol(V) for brine shrimp lethality bioassay to reveal the cytotoxic activity of these compounds. The compounds I and II showed less cytotoxic activity than that of the compound III, IV and V. The LC50 values of the compounds I-V were found 29.51, 14.15, 9.12, 4.36 and 5.75 μgm/ml, respectively. It was reported2,5 that all of these compounds have antibacterial activities and compound II showed highest antibacterial activities amongst these compounds.
