A of mixed ligand alkali metal complexes of the type ML.nHL', where M = Li, Na or K, L = 2-hydroxy-1, 4-naphthaquinone. n = 1 or 2 and HL’ = acetyl acetone, benzoyl acetone, ethylacetoacetate, salicylaldehyde and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde have been synthesised and characterised. IR spectra of these complexes suggest that hydrogen bonding is an essential feature for their stability.
