A series of new 2,3-diaryl thiazolidine-4-ones have been synthesised by condensation of schiff bases with mercapto acetic acid, which on oxidation gives 1,1-dioxides. The schiff bases have been prepared by condensing m-phenoxy benzaldehyde with different aryl amines. The physical and spectral data of the synthesised compounds are determined. The synthesised compounds are screened for their invitro antibacterial and anticancer activity.
KEYWORDS:Diaryl; thiazolidine; synthesised; m-phenoxy benzaldehyde
