Sixteen new halogen substituted schiff bases were prepared by condensation of different aromatic aldehydes with substituted aromatic amines (compd. 1-10) and iodo-2'-hydroxy acetophenones with amino benzoic acids (compd. 11-16). The structures of these schiff bases have been confirmed by their IR & elemental analysis. All the new compounds synthesised have been evaluated for their Inhibitory action against these bacteria.
KEYWORDS:Halogen; aromatic; aldehydes hydroxy
