The inhibiting action of benzoic acid, o-nitrobenzoic acid, m-nitrobenzoic acid, p-nitrobenzoic acid and 3,5-dinitrobenzoic on urease catalysed hydrolysis of urea has been investigated on the basis of kinetic measurement. The concentration of urea was varied in the range of 1.31 x 10-3 M............3.33 x 10-3 M and that of inhibitor was maintained 2.71 x 10-3 M The Michaeiis constant and dissociation constant of enzyme-inhibitor complex were determined. The pH and temperature of the reaction system were 6.70,37°C respectively. Benzoic acid and all nitrobenzoic adds have shown competitive type of inhibition.
