Poly [N,N-dichloro-p-styrene Sulfonamide] in the presence of sodium salt of poly [p-styrene Sulfonamide] can oxidise arenes to corresponding carbonyl compounds. The arenes reaction carry out via sulfoimination of arenes and then cleavages to carbonyl group under acidic condition. Arenes with EWG were easily oxidised than others. The reaction takes place at benzylic position.
