Slow release formulations of pirimiphos-methyl (actellic) were prepared by impregnating the actellic on alumina or kaolin and then coating with resin formed from a mixture of cashew nut shell oil and formalin. The formulations were screened on bean and maize weevils and U.V. spectrophotometry residue analysis was carried out on the applied formulation. Formulations with resin coating reduced the rate of release of actellic. The resin as a good coating agent for actellic formulation with alumina or kaolin as a carrier helped the life span of the actellic to be prolonged
