A few complexes of 3-substitued-4-amino-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole schiff bases with zinc (II) and cadmium (II) were synthesized in an ethanoltc medium. Mode of bonding and structures were discussed for these complexes on the basis of their IR and 1H NMR spectra together with analytical data. The prementioned data suggest dimeric tetrahedral structure tor Zn (II) and Cd(ll) complexes. All the ligands and their Zn (II) and Gd{f!) complexes were screened tor their antibacterial and antifungal activities.
