The azo dyes of the type 1-Naphthol-2-[4(β-sulphatoethyl sulphonyl) Phenyl] azo-7-[2"- Chloro-4"-benzolhiozole-S-triazin-6"-yI] amino-3-sulphonic acid have been synthesized by the condensation of 1-Naphthol-7-amino-3-Sulphonic acid with Cyanuric chloride followed by coupling with diazotised 4-(β-sulphatoethyl Suiphonyf aniline) and finally condensed with various benzotfiiazole derivatives. All the dyes applied on wool, and viscose rayon and their dyeing, Spectral properties were assessed.
KEYWORDS:sulphonic acid; benzotfiiazole
