Complexes formed by the reaction of cerium (IV) and Fe(lll) and 2,2'-Azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) (ABTBTS) were isolated and studied using elemental analyses, IRIR, UV-Vis spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The reactions were found to proceed via a fast one electron transfer followed by complex formation to form 1:1 complexes. The thermal decomposition of the complexes was studied and the thermodynamic parameters are reported.
