New antimicrobial 1 -alkoxymethyl-3-{N-[1 -(benzotriazol-1 -yl)methyl]carboxamide}pyridinium and 1-a/ky/thiomethyl-3-{N-[1-(benzotria2ol-1-yl)methyl]carboxamide}pyridiniurn chlorides were synthesized from N-[1 -(benzotriazol-1 -yl)methyl]-3-pyridinecarboxamide and the corresponding chloromoethylalkyl ethers or sulfides, respectively. Thermal stability of the new compounds was Studied by means of DTATA and TGA measurements. The samples exhibit thermal stability up to their melting points.
KEYWORDS:Pyridinium chloride; thermal stability; antimicrobial activity
