5-Sulphoanthranilic acid was diazotized and coupled with 1-(3'-sulphophenyl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone and 1-(phenyl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone to give 1-(3'-sulphophenyl)-3-methyl-4-azo(2'-carboxy-4"-sulphonic acid)-5-pyrazolone[MSMACSP] I and 1-(phenyl)-3-methyl-4-azo-(2'-carboxy-4'-sulphonic acid)-5-pyrazolone [PMACSP] II respectively. The metal complexes of I and II with various metal ions have been prepared. The synthetic compounds were characterized by elemental and spectral analysis, and their dyeing properties on wool and nylon fabrics were investigated.
KEYWORDS:5-Sulphoanthranilic acid; diazotized; synthetic compounds
