The fluidization characteristics of FBBR were investigated. A laboratory scale FBBR employed for determining the bed porosity (ε) at different superficial velocities (U) to the reactors. An empirical correlation was developed which links the expansion index (n) In the Richardson-Zaki correlation to a measurable parameters, the terminal Reynold's numbers (NRe). The terminal superficial velocity and Reynold's number were estimated for different Sets of experimental data.
KEYWORDS:fluidization; empirical correlation; Richardson-Zaki correlation; Reynold's number
