Densities for mixtures for PEG 200 and PEG 400 with benzene have been studied. Excess volume (VE) for binary mixtures are calculated over entire range of composition at 303K, 313 K and 323K temperatures using standard relation. The data are fitted to an empirical equation. Vε/X1X2=[a+b(2x1-1)+c(2X1-1)2] where constants a, b and c are evaluated by the least squares method along with standard deviation a. The negative (δVE / δT)p is observed for both systems. The temperature effect has been studied in the light of specific interaction phenomena.
