A series of new diaxouranium (VI) complexes with a Schiff base derived from 2-aminopyridine has been synthesized. Analytical, spectral and i.r as well as n.m.r and antifungal studies of the complexes have been reported. Ligand was found to act as N-coordinalmg monodentate ligand coordinating through azomethlne linkage to the uranium atom. The coordination number of V-atom was found to be 6 or 8 depending upon the anions present.
KEYWORDS:Diaxouranium; 2-aminopyridine; N-coordinalmg
